CHASING 165 set by Wembdon A on Saturday, Minehead II made light work of it, the winning runs coming with still eight overs remaining.
Minehead won the toss and elected to bowl and Wembdon's openers Pigden and Bowden made steady progress early on, reaching 50 in 20 overs.
With the demise of Steve Pigden for a useful 50 in the 25th over, Minehead started to reap the reward of their accurate bowling.
Young Eddie Barney bowled an impressive spell of six overs of pace, taking four wickets for 22 runs, removing the heart of the Wembdon batting line-up.

Keith Welsher, elevated to No 3 in the order, joined Sully (34) to put on 33 in nine overs when Sully was bowled by R Martin, the pick of the Wembdon attack.
With 82 still needed, Nigel Bowditch came to the crease, Minehead's hero in so many run chases this season. Welsher, gaining in confidence, made light work of the run chase along with Bowditch (38 no) to complete the task and past the Wembdon total in the 27th over.
Welsher's 50 no included nine fours, many of which were drives on either side of the wicket against the quickest of the Wembdon's bowlers.
