A DULVERTON woman hit the national headlines last week after her film of a suspected UFO hovering over the village went viral on the internet.

Within hours of posting 'UFO over Dulverton, Somerset' on the popular YouTube website, the footage taken by ceramic artist Jacki Leighton-Boyce had been viewed thousands of times worldwide.

By Wednesday it had clocked up a staggering 165,500 views.

And her sighting of the strange bright object at around 4.30pm on November 23 coincided with another internet sensation on the same subject just across the border in Devon.

A professional photographer had been taking pictures of a wind farm in Fullabrook when he captured a mysterious, large grey object floating above the turbines.

The photo was picked up by national newspapers, which quickly linked it to Jacki's video.

"I noticed a large, very bright object sitting low on the horizon above Dulverton and I watched it for some time before deciding to film it from my garden.

"Unfortunately, by then it was dark so the size of the object was not apparent in my film.

"I called my mother who lives about a mile and a half away and she was amazed by it too," Jacki said.

The object hung around for about an hour before disappearing and over the next couple of days Jacki began to hear stories from other people who had also seen a strange object around the same time.

She then decided to upload her own film on the internet and found it being featured in national newspapers in the UK and on international news sites on the internet.
