ONE of Britain’s leading environmental thinkers will be asking ‘What kind of world are we leaving the next generation’ when he speaks at an event organised by the Exmoor Society at Dulverton Town Hall on Tuesday, March 26.

Sir Dieter Helm, Professor of Economic Policy at Oxford University and Fellow in Economics at New College, Oxford, will address the question: “What would it take to live within our environmental means?”

His book ‘Legacy’ explains how we can mend our ways, and highlights what he regards as the feebleness of current approaches to net zero and biodiversity loss, as well as neglect of core infrastructures, and why we are not meeting our duties to the next generation.

Tickets for the talk, which is at 6.30 pm, can be booked through the Exmoor Society office, website www.exmoorsociety.com or 01398 323335. The price is £5 for members, £8 for non-members and includes a drink.
