FIRE crews had to break into a house in Bishops Lydeard and rescue two dogs when unattended cooking caught fire while the house owners were out at abut 12.30pm on Sunday (May 15).

Three fire appliances from Taunton were sent to the scene following a report of a smoke alarm sounding and smoke in the kitchen in Greenway.
On arrival, crews found that there was smoke logging and, as the occupiers were out, a forced entry was made to the building.
To deal with the incident, fire crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan and they also rescued two dogs from inside the property.
