LOCAL vet Geoff Johnson was called on to do the honours at a prizegiving organised by the West Somerset Dog Partnership.
A host of gold, silver and bronze Kennel Club Good Citizen's Awards were presented to dogs and their owners who had successfully completed a rigorous training course over the last couple of months.
The ceremony took place at a barbecue and social evening held in Wheddon Cross.
Obedience and puppy training classes are held weekly in Porlock Village Hall, while socialisation and fun agility classes are held in Wheddon Cross during the summer months.
The training sessions are run by Julie Dare and Libby Portch.
