DARTS players are rallying round to help former Free Press production manager Mark Slack (pictured), who is suffering from long Covid.

Mark, who used to be a very active man, spent a long time in hospital and now cannot even make a cup of tea without needing a rest.

He has to use an oxygen supply and relies heavily on his partner Sue, who works in the Williton Co-op store.

Now, both Watchet Summer and Minehead Winter darts leagues are supporting Mark through the West Somerset Super League Team.

Mark was a regular in both leagues and the super league and also played in Taunton and Bridgwater leagues.

To raise funds to help meet the cost of a stairlift for Mark to get up and down stairs in his flat, the leagues have organised an open singles darts competition and inviting all players to take part.

It will be held on Saturday, August 13th at the Railway Inn, Long Street, Williton, starting at 3pm. The £10 entry fee covers food and there will be prize money totalling £175.
