STRANDED in the surf on Blue Anchor beach, a baby dolphin had a life-saving escape when it was rescued by holiday-makers taking an evening stroll.

Jason Power, from London, on a week’s holiday in West Somerset, dashed into the water after he saw something moving along the shoreline.

His wife Sarah said: “It was the most amazing thing. I was walking with Jason and my son along the beach at Blue Anchor when we saw it.

“As we got closer we realised it was a very young beached dolphin. Jason managed to get it back out into the sea and send it on its way.”

Messages posted on social media congratulated Jason on the rescue. One said: “Wow! What an amazing thing that you were there at just the right time. Must have been a truly magical moment.”
