Bridgetown v Alan Thomas' XI
AN enjoyable friendly saw over 600 runs scored at Bridgetown but there was no result as rain cut short Bridgetown's reply with the game evenly balanced.
Alan Thomas' XI batted first and with P Blyth and J White both reaching their tons the final score of 270-6 looked a difficult target.
Bridgetown took up the challenge and also had two batsmen in form, Danny Phippen (77 no) and Mike Sherring (75), and when Mother Nature drove the side's in both sides thought victory could be theirs.
P Blyth deserves special mention for his excellent spell of bowling for Alan Thomas' XI which brought him 5-48.

Richmond Town
THIS friendly at Bridgetown between the home team and Richmond Town saw the visitors lose by four wickets.
Richmond batted first and were dismissed for 180, with A Ward their top scorer with 38.
For Bridgetown Simon Gilbert had the best figures with 3-43.
Although Bridgetown lost six wickets in reaching the winning post they were never in serious threat of losing, especially after good knocks from Dave Hillier (57) and James How (41).

United Banks v
Porlock
AN exciting finish saw Porlock beat United Banks off the last ball of the game.
The Banks were invited to bat and they got off to an excellent start with Field and Rowse putting on 53 for the first wicker before Field was bowled for a well constructed 26.
With Rowse going for 39 and a hard hitting 27 not out from skipper Vickers the Banks set the young Porlock side a good total of 140 to win.
The Banks always looked in control despite some good solid Porlock batting but a late onslaught saw them home off the last ball of the match.
Lee Baker returned to form with the ball with 2-20 and the match saw a promising debut for the Banks' Coath.

Porlock: 140-4 (L Baker 2-20).
Bridgetown v Trumpters
THIS game on Sunday resulted in an easy win for visitors Trumpters over Bridgetown by eight wickets.
Bridgetown batted first and found the going very difficult, top scorer Chris Sherring only reaching 26.
Neil Richards was the best bowler for the visitors finishing with 3-7 as the home side were dismissed for a poor 92.
Trumpters made short work of winning, only losing two wickets in reaching 96 with Rogers top scoring on 42 no.
Bridgetown: 92 (C Sherring 26, N Richards 3-7).
Trumpters: 96-2 (Rogers 42 no).
Brompton Ralph v Ansty
A CLOSE game eventually fell in the favour of home side Brompton Ralph on Thursday when they beat Ansty by two wickets.
Anstey batted first and reached 171-8 off their 40 overs with B Still top scoring with 32.
There were other useful knocks in the order for Anstey and for Brompton C Welch, D Percy and A Price all took two wickets.
When Brompton batted their top scorer was T Smith with 48 and with a couple of twenties in the scorebook they just achieved the victory.
B Crouch and A Mott was the pick of the Ansty bowlers claiming three wickets apiece.

Timberscombe v Bartley
TIMBERSCOMBE just managed to hang on for a draw in this afternoon friendly at home to tourists Bartley on June 30.
When the visitors batted first, early wickets by Joseph Smith and Chris Hill had them reeling at 20-3 before a stand of 70 got the innings underway.
With A Stumper, T Winter and J Homer all getting into the 40s, a significant target of 220 was set for the loss of eight wickets.
Freddie Hayes took three wickets and Dominic Westcott two.
The home side struggled from the start being 6-3 and 16-4 before stand-in skipper Gary Thorpe dug in and was well supported by Nick Hill who made 27.
After Hill was dismissed, his brother Chris also stayed with his captain for half an hour although, at the end, Thorpe saw his side to safety with 30 no with No 11 as company.
Opening bowler J Wilkinson did most of the damage taking 4-17.

Timberscombe v Shirley British Legion
FOR the second week running, Timberscombe batted out for a draw at home to tourists — this time against Shirley British Legion on Sunday.
The tourists were given a solid start by A Williams (50), N Goodyer and M Larkins.
But after being 102-1, the innings subsided somewhat and finished with a disappointing 160-6 with the damage being done by M Brown who was 'guesting' and took 4-28.
Timberscombe also had a good start with an opening stand of 69 between Phil Hayes (41) and David Cook but once they were parted wickets fell rapidly — three to B Sloman and two to N Goodyer — and it was left to the 'welcome guest' M Brown to see the home side to safety with 20 no.
Shirley British Legion: 160-6 (A Williams 50, N Goodyer 28, M Larkins 25, M Brown 4-28).
Timberscombe: 116-5 (P Hayes 41, D Cook 25, M Brown 20 no, B Sloman 3-19, N Goodyer 2-24).
Watchet Midweek v Alba
WATCHET entertained London side Alba in a 40 over friendly and won a high scoring game by 12 runs.
Batting first, Watchet made 232-4, with Clive Strong hitting his first century of the season, and Martin Ketchen scoring a half century in a fifth wicket stand of 130.
Alba batsmen competed well in reply, with N Johnson hitting 64, but as wickets fell the later batsmen couldn't maintain the required run rate and they finished just short on 220.

Alba: 220 (N Johnson 64, N Yaw 3-20).
Cutcombe v Cotswold
Wanderers
CUTCOMBE won this 20 over game by 83 runs last Friday.
Electing to bat, Cutcombe made good progress to score 103-3 off 10 overs. A partnership of 85 between Dave Persey and Will Sherring accelerated the run rate before Sherring was caught in the deep for 91.
Persey was joined by Mike Sherring and they lifted Cutcombe's total to 195-5 with Persey ending on 30 no.
A Bayliss was the pick of the bowlers finishing with 2-16.
Cotswold started well with C Hanks scoring a quick 40 but from then on things became more difficult for them.
Tom Strickland (2-8) and Robin Howe (2-10) tightened things up to help restrict the visitors to a final score of 112-9.
Cutcombe: 195-5 (W Sherring 91, D Percey 30 no, M Sherring 22, T Baylis 2-14).
Cotswold Wanderers: 122-9 (C Hanks 40, T Strickland 2-8, R Howe 2-10).
Winsford v Cotswold Wanderers
WINSFORD beat touring Cotswold Wanderers by 62 runs on a damp wicket on Sunday.
Put into bat, Winsford reached 62-6 from 20 overs with W Sherring scoring 48.
Then some good batting from T Strickland, C Loosemore and A Blackmore in the middle order guided Winsford to 188-8 with T Moore taking 4-45.
Cotswold struggled against some tight bowling from Terry Mattravers, who only had four scored from his eight overs. Only N Baylis (61) came to grips with the conditions.
A Blackmore (3-49) and C Loosemore (2-20) restricted the touring team to 126-9.
