The A303 was partly closed off following an accident between South Petherton and Cartgate roundabouts on Thursday, June 20th.

It was a one-vehicle accident in which a car hit the central reservation and landed on its roof. There were two people in the car, with one of them being trapped in the wreckage.

Rescue services arrived at the scene after having had received the alarm at 12.26pm. The eastbound lanes were completely closed off while one westbound lane was kept open.

Both casualties, one male and one female, were taken to hospital by road ambulance.
