SIR — May I thank Mr. Adams for pointing out who is responsible for the grass cutting in areas such as Periton Way (Your Letters June 28).
However, in common with everyone else, I pay the council tax due on my property to "The Council" and not to Magna. So I feel that it is reasonable to expect the council to ensure that the work is up to standard, and not to expect individuals to contact the contractor concerned.
It cannot be right that council tax payers in one part of the town receive a poorer service than those in other parts of the town, whilst paying the same amount per tax band.
We have a contractor for road repairs, a different one for road cleaning, and yet another for grass cutting, I am sure that the list could go on, it all make it so easy to pass the buck.
In view of the concerns over the proposed move of the council offices, perhaps it would be simpler to shut up shop at Williton and hand the whole shooting match to "The Contractors".
