A SPECIAL fundraising event to thank Macmillan Cancer Support raised £1,380 at Williton Social Club.
The event was organised by a Williton man as a thank you for support he received while being treated last year for cancer.
It kicked off with an afternoon of fun and a visit by Mickey and Minnie Mouse for children, followed by an evening with an Elvis tribute act by Jon Whitlam of Taunton, who donated his services for the fundraiser.
With everything from a bouncy castle and disco to an auction of autographed memorabilia and a raffle, the event proved a great success.
“It was a thoroughly brilliant day enjoyed by all, and we thank all who came and donated so much,” the organisers said.
