SIR David Attenborough’s recent television programme ’Extinction: The Facts’ spelled out how the destruction of vital ecosystems, and accelerating biodiversity loss, threaten our own survival as a species.

And on Wednesday (September 30) residents in Stogumber are coming together to discuss what they can do.

Stogumber resident Jamie Robertson has taken the initiative to convene what he calls a community conversation and workshop on Tackling the Climate Change and Nature Loss Emergency: What are we going to do about it?"

Jamie said: “The presentation will start with some stark but incontrovertible climate science data. Then the floor will be open for discussion of ideas about the sort of things we can do as a community to reduce carbon footprint and to create gains for nature in the parish.

“I hope that this will lead to practical projects being worked up, some of which may then be considered by the parish council for possible submission to the Somerset Climate Emergency Community Fund.”

The online event is at 6.45pm and open to all living in the parish of Stogumber. Those wishing to attend should ring 01984 656526 for the Zoom joining link.
