Leaving aside all other considerations, it is beyond belief that anyone in their right mind would even dream of putting forward a proposal to site a new housing estate at the top of Cleeve Hill.

The cliffs here are notoriously unstable. Nobody knows when (not if) they will collapse into the sea, nor, when they do, exactly how much land will succumb, though it will probably be substantial.

Just before the last war, there used to be a golf course between Warren Farm and Watchet. The cliffs here collapsed, effectively taking the entire golf course with them.

One cannot imagine anyone advising potential buyers that these properties would be a worthwhile purchase and one would hope that common sense will prevail and the whole idea will be consigned to the ‘long grass’!
