In proper festive spirit A Boy Called Christmas comes to the big screen for a 2.30pm matinee performance at the Minehead Regal on Saturday (December 18). 

It tells the story of an ordinary young boy called Nikolas as he sets out on an adventure into the snowy north in search of his father who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm. Taking with him a headstrong reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse, Nikolas soon meets his destiny.

The film (Cert PG) stars Maggie Smith, Kristen Wiig, Sally Hawkins, Stephen Merchant, Jim Broadbent, Toby Jones and Henry Lawfull as Nikolas.

Tickets cost £5, or £3 for Regal Film Society members, Friends, students and under 14s. Book online and at the Regal box office, 01643 706430, between 9.30am and 12pm or by phone only from 1.30pm to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

Some Covid restrictions remain in place. There will be one empty seat either side of individually booked seats or blocks of seats. Everyone will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided and wear a face mask.
