COLD-hearted thieves have targeted a children's sports club in Williton, prompting calls for the culprits to be reported to the police.
Doug Human, of the Bowman of Danesfield, said the archery club's youth section was burgled some time between last Friday and Sunday.
Although he was unsure exactly what had been taken when he spoke to the Free Press, he said the damage caused to locks and bolts was a major inconvenience and an additional cost that had to be borne by the club.
He said: "I'm sure someone knows who had done this and, by in large, people around here know this a local club for local kids, which is paid for by the kids.
"They've damaged a lock and smashed the bolt to get in then tried to put the whole thing back together again to make it look as if nothing's happened."
A club member spotted the break-in at the club's premises at Danesfield Middle School in Williton on Sunday morning and called the police.
"The equipment is of no use to anyone but club members and this is just a real inconvenience for local youngsters," Mr Human said.
Anyone with information about the break-in should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
