TALENTED young artists at Dunster First School have recreated one of West Somerset's most famous landmarks in clay - the village's historic Yarn Market. Year two pupils made several trips to the listed building to make drawings and to take photographs before returning to class to create a series of individual clay tiles. The tiles were then put together to form a large clay relief of Dunster Yarn Market which has now been framed and put on display in the school. Class teacher Anney Capel and learning support assistant Jacqui Turton said they had been impressed with the care and dedication the children had shown. The picture was also a big hit with fellow pupils, parents and visitors to the school, while several villagers had made a special trip to the school just to see the artwork for themselves. Pictured with the clay relief are pupils, from left, Grainne Cranna, aged seven, Jade Jordan, aged six, Thomas Willis, aged six and Christopher Norman, aged seven. Photo: Steve Guscott.
