SPORTING superstar John Regis helped pupils at Danesfield School, in Williton, raise vital funds to support the sports stars of the future.

The British 200m record holder joined the students in a series of sponsored gym exercises to raise money for a sports-based charity called Superschools and to help the school buy new sports kits.

After the fundraising, the pupils were given a chance to get their breath back by listening to John give a talk about his career.

Then two lucky pupils were given the chance to compete for John's Olympic medals in a mini Danesfield Olympic 2000 race.

However, both medals were given back before John left the school!
