MINEHEAD schoolchildren were given a taste of life in Victorian times with a very special lesson at the West Somerset Rural Life Museum in Allerford.

Festive events lined up for golden anniversary year on West Somerset RailwayPupils from Minehead First School were kitted-out in the type of clothes children would have worn to school more than 100 years ago.
They were then given a lesson in the museum's own Victorian schoolroom - complete with slate and chalk instead of ballpoint pens and notebooks.
The trip was organised as part of the children's national curriculum studies.
