Everyone who is organising an event or activity on or around October 19 – Exmoor Day – is being encouraged to blow their trumpets to help celebrate all that is good on the moor.
October 19 is the anniversary of the signing of the order designating Exmoor as a national park and the concept of Exmoor Day was resurrected last year as part of tourism recovery work.
It provides a day for anyone connected with Exmoor to promote the area in various ways, either from a tourism aspect or life on Exmoor.
While conceived as a tourism initiative, it need not be limited to tourism: “It would be great if others across Exmoor wanted to get involved,” said an Exmoor Consultative and Parish Forum (ECPF) spokesman.
The bulk of activity will take place online – lots of social media activity under the hashtag of #ExmoorDay for example – but it is also an opportunity to flag up any events, or activities happening on or around October 19
