Mr Liddell-Grainger said the extra assistance was long overdue, particularly in rural parts of the constituency.
He said: “For a very long time I have been making the case that rural areas with sparse populations have been disadvantaged in the past when schools funding has been allocated despite the extra challenges they face.
“I am grateful that extra help is now being delivered, money which is going to fund at least some of the improvements that are queued up waiting for a green light.”
