The Wildlife Week Moth Watch attracted no fewer than eight Brimstone moths to the light trap in just two hours.
Staff from Nettlecombe Court Field Centre played a major part in this year’s activities, not only helping out with the Moth Watch but also bringing a study group of 17 and 18-year-olds to carry out an orchard bio-blitz.
DIY wildlife activities are available in the orchard throughout the summer holidays, and on Sunday August 27 Elizabeth Bradshaw of the Somerset Bat Group will lead a joint bat watch starting in Carhampton churchyard at 8pm.
