VOLUNTEER listeners and befrienders are needed to help a cancer charity expand the range of services it offers to both sufferers and carers.
Somerset Cancer Care operates a free information service from The Coach House, in Martlet Road, Minehead, every Monday afternoon from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
It was launched four years ago and offers anyone affected by cancer the opportunity to talk to trained listeners and to meet others going through the same experiences.
Visitors are also given the chance to try a range of relaxing complementary therapies and to borrow specialist books from the charity's own library.

In addition, volunteers organise social events such as outings, workshops, pub lunches and visits from guest speakers.
Recent events have included a trip to Hestercombe House and gardens and a Christmas party is planned.
There are plans to introduce even more activities - but that will only be possible with help from new volunteers.
A voluntary West Somerset co-ordinator is also needed to ensure the group continues to run smoothly and to help set up a friends support group.
Somerset co-ordinator Fiona Campbell said: "We are looking to expand what we can offer and are now hoping to find more volunteer listeners and befrienders, both male and female, to help.
"Free, professional training will be given in listening skills and the specifics of supporting anyone affected by cancer.
"We would also welcome applications from complementary therapists who have some time to give."
Charity workers are hoping to organise a meeting in the near future to enable prospective volunteers to find out more about the work of the group.
In the meantime, more information is available from Jean on 01643 862959 or Graham on 01643 862906.
