Somerset residents are being asked to volunteer with a hospice charity to help recycle leftover Christmas trees.

St Margaret's Hospice Christmas Tree Collection will see volunteer drivers spend a January weekend collecting real Christmas trees from driveways and doorsteps across the country.

A spokesperson for the charity said: "The more vans and volunteers, the more Christmas trees we can agree to recycle in exchange for donations towards helping the hospice. See how some of last year’s volunteers enjoyed helping by visiting our website. Let us know you can help at 01935 709 496."

The collections will take place on Saturday, January 13 and Saturday, January 14.
