A SHOP that has given producers from across Exmoor a chance to sell their wares for many years, is to close after Christmas.
The Exmoor Producers Association was originally set up in 1995 to help makers of everything from chocolate and jam to crafts of all kinds, and has had a shop since 2001 – for the past 11 years in Friday Street, Minehead, and before that in the former Washford Mill shopping centre.
“We have had some extremely successful years,” said shop manager Sue Taphouse.
“But as people’s circumstances and shopping habits have changed and so many now shop online, it is no longer viable to keep the shop open and sadly it is closing.”
The Minehead shop will still be open for Christmas gifts and will then close its doors for the last time on January 13.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved over the years,” said Sue.
“We would like to thank all our loyal customers, of which there have been many, and all the lovely holidaymakers who seek us out when they visit.
“The Exmoor Producers Association can be rightly proud of its history and achievements."
