A MAJOR milestone in Minehead Museum history was reached on Tuesday morning when the 50,000th visitor was welcomed by volunteer Di Martin.

Mrs Bernadette Evans from Cardiff was presented with a certificate and a copy of the museum booklet “A Little History of Minehead”.

Curator Julian Luke said: “The museum opened in 2014 and has seen steady growth, and the visitor figures are particularly encouraging considering the museum was closed for 18 months during the pandemic.”

The museum is completely staffed by volunteers and new helpers are always welcome. More information can be found on the museum website www.mineheadmuseum.co.uk or by visiting the museum at the Beach Hotel.
