THE Somerset Chamber has launched a series of workshops to help members registered on the Hinkley supply chain prepare for both the proposed Hinkley Point C project and for other large infrastructure opportunities.
The inaugural workshop has already taken place and gave members an idea of the size of the challenge and the rewards facing local businesses when preparing to win large contracts with major global corporations.
It also highlighted some of the things that businesses could be doing to ensure they made a convincing first impression.
Chris Langdon, from the chamber’s Hinkley supply chain team, said: “It is fantastic to see businesses realising that they must take positive action.
“They need to put in place the right mix of strategy and professional skills in order to punch through the procurement process and meet the client expectations on large infrastructure projects.
“The South West is set to benefit from a number of very large projects over the next ten years and those suppliers who rise to the challenge could see really positive step changes in their businesses.”
Businesses wanting to know more about the ‘Raise the Bar’ workshops can email [email protected] or visit the website www.hinkleysupplychain.co.uk to register on the Hinkley supply chain portal.
