VISITORS to Watchet’s Wednesday Esplanade markets until the end of September are invited to share their ideas with members of the West Somerset ’Build Back Better’ campaign on how to improve public transport, and provide affordable homes and greener energy in the aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic.

A spokesman said: “We want to build on the renewed level of community cohesion that has grown up as a result of the coronavirus crisis. We hope to bring people and organisations together from across all sectors to see how we can work more closely together.

“Our campaign aims to include a ‘listening project’ to find out where people are at the moment, how they have coped with Covid, what lessons they have learned and what they would like to hold on to as we move forward.”

Campaigners plan to hold an online seminar on October 10, from 1pm to 5pm, to engage a wide cross-section of community groups, businesses and individuals, exploring how to generate exciting new ideas and projects and build on the positives which have occurred during lockdown.
