The West Somerset Brass Band raised £230 at their recent Quiz night at the Royal British Legion in Watchet.

Hosted by band vice president Chris Seyforth, 13 teams battled it out for the honours over 9 rounds.

All the money raised will be going towards the bands planned trip to Watchet’s twin town of St Renan, Brittany in August. The most recent visit was in 2018 where the band played 4 well received concerts in the French town.

Originally the Watchet Royal British Legion Band, the group is made up of musicians from around the region and are currently seeking cornet players due to 2 experienced players moving away from the area. T

hey also have an active and successful training band, where we welcome children and adults alike who are interested in learning a brass instrument and would like to join the band. Instruments are provided and we have a full training programme in place delivered by experienced teachers.
