MINEHEAD’S new branding is to be looked at again next week as the row over the ‘Minehead Bay’ theme continues.
The group behind the campaign – Minehead Coastal Communities Team (CCT) – is to hold a meeting over the controversy on Monday.
The branding – unveiled in the Free Press two weeks ago – has come in for heavy criticism on the ‘Minehead Community Group’ Facebook page, with members coming up with their own marketing logo proposal and calling for re-think.
On Tuesday, the CCT’s chairman, Minehead Town Council vice-chairman Cllr Roger Thomas, said the group would be sticking with its chosen branding.

“The choice that was clearly preferred by the majority has now been unanimously agreed by the CCT as the key stakeholder group."
But on Wednesday Graham Sizer, Minehead Chamber of Commerce chairman and a member of the CCT, confirmed that the group would be holding a meeting about the matter.
“I am sure we are all concerned that the branding decision needs to be revisited,” he said. “It is good that so many in the community are interested.
“The CCT will be meeting early next week to discuss recent activity. I am sure a solution will be found.”
