Somerset West and Taunton road closures: two for motorists to avoid over the next fortnightSet at the eastern end of the Exmoor National Park, the garden is filled with colourful spring flowers such as primulas, hellebores (Lenten roses), pulmonarias and spring bulbs and with plants for foliage and architectural effect such as epimediums, black leaved cow parsley, euphorbias and clipped box.
There are snakes-head fritillaries, wood anemones and primroses in the wild flower area. In addition are many interesting trees and shrubs.
Lots of birdsong can be heard as well as spotted collecting food and nesting material in the garden, and the bees are already gathering pollen and nectar from the early flowers.
Tea, coffee and cakes will be sold in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West and there will be plants for sale. Admission £4, children enter free.
