Minehead X-ray department reopens as new equipment ready sooner than expectedOrganisers Minehead Events Group are hoping to attract at least 70 helpers – the number who turned up for the last major clean-up of The Esplanade in 2016.
“The district council has already cleared a lot of the sand which was thrown onto The Esplanade by the winter gales but there is still plenty to do to make things clean and tidy for our visitors,” said events group member Cllr Karen Mills.
“Bring along buckets, spades and even wheelbarrows, and just do as much or as little as you want to. This year we have arranged with the Environment Agency that we can throw sand back over the sea wall rather than dumping it on the beach. We’re hoping this will make the job a little quicker and easier.”
The clean-up starts at 9.30am from the Channel Adventure building and will continue at least until lunchtime.
