BELLS will be ringing from 15 West Somerset churches at various times tomorrow (Saturday) for the annual meeting of the Bath and Wells Association of Change Ringers.
Around 100 ringers are expected to converge on All Saints Church, Dulverton, to ring the bells and take part in the afternoon church service before the meeting and tea in the town hall.
It is hosted by Dunster branch, which covers 40 towers in West Somerset, and those attending the meeting will have a choice of three routes to the meeting, each of which will have towers open for ringing.
Along route one, West Quantoxhead, St Decuman’s and Old Cleeve towers will be open. On Route two, the choice is Crowcombe, Bicknoller and Sampford Brett, and on Route three it is Chipstable, Skilgate and Brushford.

At the end of the afternoon, ringers have a choice of two routes home: Dunster and Carhampton, or Huish Champflower and Wiveliscombe.
A special feature of this year’s AGM is the premiere of a new ringers’ hymn specially composed for the occasion by local composer Emily Feldberg, of Carhampton.
The tune is based on a call change sequence called Hagdyke and Emily’s words urge ringers to “let forth the glorious sound”.
