SIR — I have attended my last meeting at West Somerset Council as councillor for Williton ward. Can I say a big thank you to all the people that kept me as a councillor since I was first elected in 1991, and all those that have helped me. I shall miss some of the discussions held in the chamber but won't lose any sleep. I have enjoyed what I have done. It is not all roses being a councillor and you will not get rich because most of the work is done in your own time. I shall be able to have a holiday without working around meetings, or have the telephone ringing as I sit down to Sunday lunch.
