An elderly woman had her bag snatched when walking from a Preston Road shop towards Cloverdale Court.

The 88-year-old woman did not see the offender approach but gave a brief chase before having to give up.

The offender was last seen heading in the direction of Clover Court. He is described as white, about 5ft 8 inches tall, of slim build with short dark hair.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a dark Adidas-type jacket with three white stripes on the sleeves. He also wore a dark hat.

The incident happened on Monday, December 17th at around 3.30pm.
