A TROMBONE worth £1,000 was stolen from a Vauxhall Astra taken from Carhampton and later found abandoned in Nether Stowey. The vehicle was stolen on Sunday April 16 and found near the doctors surgery in Banneson Road, Nether Stowey. But the musical instrument, a trombone in a rigid black case and embossed with the word 'King', was missing. Two men were seen walking away from the vehicle. One was described as having a facial birthmark and the other as having a distinctive tattoo. Police are appealing for anyone with any knowledge of the theft of the car or the trombone to come forward. And anyone in the music trade who may have been offered the trombone for sale is also asked to contact the police.
