SIR — As a member of the public, I attended the meeting of Minehead Town Council on Thursday March 15 in the town hall to try and listen to the progress of Minehead Football Club and the visitor information centre but was appalled to see and hear the behaviour of three of the councillors.

The meeting was mostly taken up with back-biting, sarcasm and personal comments against other members.

Surely personal grievances should be resolved beforehand so that the meeting time can be used for issues relating to public good.

Councillors are representatives of Minehead and must remember they do not own this lovely town that we live in and should be there for the town benefit and for the people of Minehead.

So come on Minehead town councillors, buck your ideas up and do the job that you have put yourself forward for, which is to keep Minehead alive and thriving, without childish tit for tat against others.

To listen to the comments of these three councillors did not bode well, as they seem to be objecting to everything that was proposed.

Do we live in Minehead or do we live in Dibley as it was like a scene from the Vicar of Dibley!

V Pickard,

Minehead
