SIR — Letters on hunting in the Free Press usually refer to either the Joint Universities Study, The Bateson Report or both.
Anyone with eyes to see, ears to hear, and a grain of compassion needs neither scientist nor professor to realise the amount of distress and cruelty involved in deer hunting.
Once again being privileged to watch the rutting stags on National Trust land, I can assure your readers that there are more and better specimens than for a number of years.
