AMNESTY supporters in Minehead have a busy week ahead as they mark Refugee Week and the anniversary of the murder of MP Jo Cox.

Saturday (June 17) sees The Great Get Together with a cake and flower stall outside Iceland store from 10am until midday as part of Amnesty’s Campaign against Hate.  

The event marks the anniversary of the death of Jo Cox who believed that more unites than divides us. There will be a card to her husband for people to sign.  

On Thursday (June 22) Minehead Amnesty will be showing the award winning documentary Fire At Sea at the Quaker Meeting House.  

The film shows life on the Italian island of Lampedusa, where hundreds of migrants have landed after perilous sea journeys. It starts at 7.30pm and all are welcome. Free admission.
