A series of public notice has been published outlining road closures for work on utilities during the following week.

IN Luxborough a short stretch of road will be closed for one day on December 20 so that Openreach can carry our underground transfer works. The road affected is Pooltown to Kingsbridge - from the junction with Chargot Lane, northwards for a distance of 88 metres.

WESSEX Water will be installing a new water main in Bicknoller at the end of the month. From December 30 all vehicles will be prohibited along Church Lane - from the junction with Taunton Road to the junction with Parsons Close - throughout the day and night. The works are expected to last for 88 days.

THERE will be a temporary road closure in Sampford Brett on December 19 to allow Openreach to carry out poling works. The road along Sampford Rocks - from the junction with Manor Farm Lane - will be shut between 9.30 am and 3.30pm.

A TEMPORARY road closure will be in force for seven days near Treborough from January 5. Approximately 1289 metres of the road from Beulah Chapel to Robbery Gate, westwards, will be out of bounds during the day, from 8 am until 6 pm. The ban will allow Barden Network Engineering to install fibre cabling on behalf of Openreach.

THE parish of Huish Champflower will endure a short road closure on January 4 to enable Utility Services Ltd to replace poles on behalf of Openreach. Tanners Hill - from the junction with Huish Cleeve Road, north westwards for a distance of 215 metres, will be closed off between 9am and 3.30pm.

TWO roads in Stogumber parish will be cordoned off in the daytime, for five days, from December 19, to enable Barden Network Engineering to carry out fibre cabling works on behalf of Openreach. The roads are Wood Lane to Preston Cross, from the junction with Wood Lane, southwards for 454 metres, and Preston Cross to Hangerland Lane, from the junction with Preston Lane, southwards for 448 metres. The roads will be closed between 8am and 6pm each day, until December 23.

A SHORT section of the Porlock Weir road - from 400 metres in a western direction from the junction with Allerpark Lane, will be closed to traffic for seven hours on January 8. Openreach will be carrying out pole replacement works from 7am until 2pm.

BARDEN Network Engineering will be installing fibre cabling on behalf of Openreach in Stogumber next month. From January 5 until January 11 all traffic will be banned along 468 metres of Station Road - from the junction with High Street to the junction with Wood Lane - between 8am and 6pm.

A TEMPORARY 30mph speed limit is to be enforced at Bicknoller in January. The restriction, to enable Wessex Water to install a new water main, will apply to the A358 Williton to Taunton road - from a point 40 metres northwest of the junction with Newton Lane, in a north westerly direction for 150 metres. The work will start on January 3 and is expected to continue until January 27. The speed limit will, however, only apply when indicated by traffic signs.
