ONE of Dunster First School's biggest fundraising events, the annual Advent fair, took place last Friday and raised over £3,800 towards the cost of repairing the school pool.
Bfore the big day, children in year four ran a number of games including guessing the number of treats in a jar and a toy bear's birthday. Children across the school also took in toys to sell.
The sale of toys, games, puzzles and books on the morning of the Advent fair raised £270.
The fair itself boasted craft, cake and bottle stalls, a silent auction, face painting and a raffle.Children could visit Father Christmas in his grotto, take part in cake raffles, a lottery game and a human fruit machine.
And musical entertainment was provided by a variety of groups, including the Advent Fair Band led by music teacher Sue Fletcher and supported by violin teacher Ruth Gasperini.
