NATIVE American culture came to West Somerset when youngsters in Crowcombe and Stogumber were given a taste of life a world away from their own.
Alan Blackhorse and his family are currently touring UK schools, giving pupils an insight into the history and tradition of their people.
And the day-long session was snapped up by staff at the federated primary schools, where key stage two children are currently learning about native American settlements.
Teacher Penny Phillips said the children had already made a tepee before Alan, his wife, 11-year-old son and four-year-old daughter made their visit.
They brought along native American clothes and showed the children some dances, including their personalised 'hoop' dance, as well as demonstrating sign language.
"The children have been studying native American myth writing so this fitted perfectly with what they have been learning," said Mrs Phillips.
"They really enjoyed the experience - it was fantastic."
