The latest major haul was on Monday night when thieves broke into buildings at Huish Barton Farm near Nettlecombeand stole £5,000 worth of power tools, chainsaws and other equipment including a 16foot trailer while farmer Ben Lintott and his family were asleep 50 yards away.
“It was a brazen raid which is being investigated by scene of crime officers,” Mr Lintott told the Free Press.
“Several similar jobs have taken place in the district recently and it would seem that equipment is probably being stolen to order.
“The amount of stuff they took would imply that they were a pretty large gang. They would also need a powerful vehicle to tow the loaded trailer away.”
Avon and Somerset police are appealing for anyone with information on the burglary to call 101 and give the reference number 5217175802.
Last week, thieves broke into Williton’s Bakelite Museum and stole garden tools including strimmers and chainsaws.
Owner Patrick Cook said: "“They also took a prototype 1970s cream-coloured Bakelite bicycle. If anyone sees that being ridden around Williton, perhaps they will give the police a ring!”
