POLICE have urged West Somerset residents to report any cases of teenage vandalism after claims that groups of young people caused ‘mindless and totally unnecessary damage’ in the Dunster and Minehead areas last week.

See the latest planning applications and decisions across West SomersetPolice were called after weekend incidents involving stones and bottles being thrown from the zig-zag path on Minehead’s North Hill and damage caused in Blenheim Gardens.
A West Somerset neighbourhood policing spokesman said: “We have identified some of these youngsters and are still making further inquiries to identify the others. We will be paying them and their parents a visit.
“We encourage residents to report incidents of anti-social behaviour to us by calling 101 or visiting our website.”
The spokesmanac added: “If you are the parent of a teenager, do you know where they are and do you know what they are doing? We know it’s been a tough year and we want our young people to go out and enjoy themselves with friends, but not at the expense of others.”
