POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the early hours of Monday August 15 in Minehead.
The incident happened at around 12.35am in Quay Street after the victim and a suspect were leaving the Old Ship Aground pub.
A 46-year old-man was assaulted and suffered facial injuries which needed hospital treatment.
An 18-year-old teenager was arrested and has since been released on bail.
PC Jeff Trimmings said: “We would like anyone who saw the assault to get in touch. The incident happened after a good natured and well attended public event, so we think it is very likely people will have been out of the street at that time.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 5216180682. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They will never ask for your name or trace your call.”
