POLICE are appealing for help in tracing these two men wanted for attempting to use counterfeit notes to pay for goods at a number of shops in West Somerset.

A Scottish £50 note was offered to pay for goods at a beauty and healthcare shop in The Parade, Minehead, on April 19. The note was declined by the store.

A discount store in The Avenue, a chemist in The Parade and a convenience store in Dulverton also reported similar incidents, where suspects tried to pay using Scottish £50 notes.

A police spokesman said: “We are keen to speak to the two men pictured, who we believe may be able to assist our enquiries into the incidents.

“We would like the men, or anyone recognising them, to contact us through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5220085785.
