A WOMAN was trapped in an upturned vehicle after a collision in Periton Road, Minehead, on Saturday.

Off-duty paramedics assisted fire crews who cut the woman free, having been called to the scene by police at around 9.52am

The accident was attended by two Minehead fire crews and a duty officer.

They stabilised the vehicle, which was on its roof, and got to work with hydraulic cutting equipment to reach the casualty.

She was then taken to a casualty station where the firefighters and the off-duty paramedics assessed her condition before the arrival of the ambulance.
