TWO people were taken to hospital – one by air ambulance – after a two-car crash on Flaxpool Hill on the A358 near Triscombe yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Moorland arsonist returns as fire crews spend most of Christmas Day battling flamesTraffic was gridlocked for several hours between Watts Lane, Combe Florey and Smokeham Lane, Flaxpool, and the road was closed to heavy goods vehicles.
Fire crews from Williton and Taunton called for medical help when a casualty had to be freed from one of the vehicles. Two other people needed medical attention.
A woman was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton with a suspected head injury and a man was flown by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with a suspected dislocated shoulder. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Firefighters made the vehicles safe and the road was re-opened late afternoon.
