THE driver of a Volkeswagen Polo car was taken to hospital with injuries thought to include cracked ribs after colliding with a fisherman’s van on Blue Anchor seafront yesterday evening (Wednesday).

A police spokesman said the car driver was taken to Taunton’s Musgrove Park hospital with injiuries which were not life-threatening. There was substantial damage to the car.
