Council abandons planned improvement of A39 cycling route from Dunster to CarhamptonTwo fire engines from Minehead went to the scene in Normandy Avenue at 1.20pm on Saturday when one of the camper vans was reported as on fire.
The crews arrived to find the vehicle well alight, as well as a second van parked next to it.
They rescued one dog and administered oxygen therapy to it using a specialist dog mask. One male was also suffering from smoke inhalation so crews administered oxygen therapy and an ambulance was requested to attend.
The fire damaged the two vans and some garden hedgerow. The cause of the fire was accidental ignition.
Crews put the fire out using one hose reel jet, with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, and one compressed air foam jet.
