IN the first of three picture specials, the Free Press looks back at how the year unfolded month by month in West Somerset. More photos of news stories from January to April in this week’s Free Press.
For example: In January, the haddock, a fish usually found in the North Atlantic, has
suddenly ventured into West Somerset waters in unusually
large numbers.
In February, Minehead Town Council and Porlock, Selworthy and Minehead Without, and Luccombe parish councils signed a deal with the county council pledging financial support for the 10 and 11 bus routes.
In March, Blue Anchor chalet owners put up fences and signs to deter walkers and cyclists from using path that crossed their land on a section of the Steam Coast Trail.
And in April, Watchet Town FC celebrated its first title win in 130 years and became Somerset County League champions for the first time ever.
